Dr Heiko Borchert
is Owner and Managing Director of Borchert Consulting & Research AG. Since 1997 he has managed over 90 consulting and study projects for public and private sector clients covering a diverse set off issues like armamements policy, critical infrastructure protection, cyber security, defense biometrics, defense-related science and technology, energy, and resource supply security, maritime security, public-private security cooperation, and unmanned and autonomous (maritime) systems.
For many years he has provided advice to the internal audit office of a Ministry of Defense and supported public and private sector clients in identifying and addressing long-term security challenges. Dr Borchert is a frequent speaker and chairman at conferences and security-relevant training institutions, has authored more than 130 publications, and is co-editor of “Vernetzte Sicherheit,” a series of books focusing on the concept and practice of the Comprehensive Approach in security policy, and "Arab Defense Industry Papers." Dr Borchert is a graduate of the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) where he studied international relations and received his PhD.
